NCI: As a Database Developer ( Functional Engineer ) you will serve as a developer enhancing the existing Soldier Equipment Effectiveness Tool (SEE) as part of the Project Manager Soldier Warrior (SWAR) program at Fort Belvoir, VA. In this position you will determine requirements and needs, investigate and resolve problems, interface with other functions and outside personnel and develop solutions to extend or enhance SEE capabilities. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

Highlights of Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the definition, development and maintenance of SEE.
  • Support the technical evolution and proposed changes to the SEE tool and ensure continuous documentation of baseline database and code configuration changes.
  • Assist with the consideration of options, conduct of trade off analysis, development, recommendation, implementation, and monitoring of solutions based on Government decisions.
  • Represent Product Manager, Project Leader, and command when technical insight is required at conferences and meetings.
  • Ability to generate, and desire to communicate, innovative ideas in a collaborative environment.
  • Mission oriented with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • 2+ years direct experience in Microsoft SQL Server database development; at least 1 year experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or newer.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Proficient with relational database concepts.
  • Experience designing, writing and testing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Experience inserting and querying BLOB data.
  • 1+ years related experience with interface development using C# in a Microsoft .NET Framework release 4.5 or newer.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Understanding of product development, testing and integration.
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School/GED AND > 10 years
    • Associates > 7 years
    • Bachelors in non Directly Related Field > 4 years
    • Bachelors in Directly Related Field > 1 years
